On January 18, 2017, the Seminar on Babesia   Detection by Blood Smear and the Babesia Nucleic Acid Identification Method was organized by NIPD. Over 20 experts, from the universities, research institutes, CDC, hospital and relating field in the country attended the seminar.

Dr. Liu Qin, the main drafter of the standard, reported the progress of the first draft of the industry standardization project and the amendment by the previous expert consultation meeting. The experts made a detailed review and discussion, including the title, format, standardized terminology, normative references, terms, definitions, presentation, appendix content and reference literature. In-depth analysis was taken in terms of the feasibility of the draft by specific recommendations. The two main drafters listened carefully to the suggestions for further amendment of the second draft.
