As we know that malaria is a tropical disease that has plagued human beings for a long time. Chinese government has attached a great importance to the prevention and treatment of malaria since new country was set up in 1949. After active and effective prevention and treatment measures have been implemented in more than 60 years, great achievements have been made. The central government launched the National Action Plan for Malaria Elimination in 2010 and expected to eliminate malaria all over the country in 2020. In recent years, an important progress has been made, local cases has been reduced to less than 50 cases, but the imported cases accounted for 98% or more of the total cases in the country. On Malaria Day, health authorities and centers for disease control and prevention at different levels in China facilitated varied forms of activates in order to improve the awareness of people how to prevent and control malaria. Good results have been achieved.
