MSF Visited NIPD
Dr. Gu Qinghui, director of MSFs activities in China, together with Dr. Michael Louis Rekart, the project officer visited NIPD on November 20, 2017, Dr.Zhou Xiaonong Director of NIPD, met with the two experts.
Dr. Zhou firstly introduced the general situation and development history of our institute, then highlighted the work progress in disease prevention and control and technical support, scientific research as well as global health cooperation. At the request of the foreign guests, Dr. Zhou introduced in detail the status quo of our cooperation with African countries and other international organizations such as WHO and the priorities and plans for future under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Dr. Michael spoke highly of the National Training Course on IRS for Kala-azar in Gansu Province from 13-17 November, 2017, and also proposed the following suggestions: (1) providing prevention and control guidelines for visceral leishmaniasis; (2) Determining outbreak prevention and control strategy; (3) purchasing IRS equipment; (4) carrying out VL PCR technology training. Both are full of confidence in future cooperation and hope to increase cooperation and promote prevention and control work like VL.
