National Institute of Parasitic Diseases promoting the revision of the new ten-year planning for schistosomiasis control
On behalf of the Disease Control Bureau, National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China, National Institute of Parasitic Diseases organized experts to discuss and revise the new ten-year planning for schistosomiasis control, namely “Elimination Action for Schistosomiasis 2016-2025”, in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on April 2-3, 2015.
In order to promote the elimination of schistosomiasis in P.R. China and ensure the people’s health, the Disease Control Bureau, National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China, as well as National Institute of Parasitic Diseases, China CDC held a series of workshops to compile the draft of new ten-year planning since 2014. Subsequently, they called for the comments from different ministries which are involved in the national programme of schistosomiasis control.
The experts in Wuxi workshop integrated the comments from Ministry of Agriculture, State Forestry Administration, and Ministry of Water Resources, focusing on the goals and actions of the draft of new ten-year planning, made revisions on general guideline, strategies, measures, indicators and their paraphrases. This workshop facilitated improvement of the new ten-year planning.
