For the further cooperation between NIPD and LSHTM in the field of tropical diseases research, a MOU was signed by Prof Zhou Xiaonong, the director of NIPD and Prof Peter Piot, the director of LSHTM on December 13, 2013 in Beijing.

The signed ceremony was witnessed by Officials from DFID China office, WHO China office, China CDC HQ and NFHPC. The MOU is aiming at improving the capacity of health development aid and strengthening information dissemination with special focus on malaria and schistosomiasis control & elimination in Africa. Both institutions committed to develop a long term partnership under the framework of the MOU.
