NIPD organized the emergency response team training
On December 4 to 6 in 2014, NIPD organized over 40 participants from the emergency response team and national infectious disease emergency response team within the Institute attending the emergency response training. The training was composed of foreign aid emergency response experience sharing, personal defense practice and survival training in the wilderness.
At the training pep rally, NIPD’s secretary of party committee Chen Xiaohong directly pointed out both the necessity and urgency to strengthen the emergency response team, and put forward specific training requirements. Deputy Director Chen Jun from Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of Shanghai shared his foreign aid experiences and interacted with attendees answering their questions. Two full-time instructors from Shanghai Police Colleges taught personal defense theories and demonstrated the moves.
On the evening of the second day, training participants went to the training base in Songjiang for wilderness survival training. Every two attendees as a group pitched one tent. Experts with previous disaster aid experiences explained camp building guidance. Participants also went through wood drilling for fire, high-altitude cross, wall climbing, building downhill, earthquakes and fire escape training, during which the participants overcame their psychological obstacles and exercised the ability to survive in a variety of complex and emergent environments.
After the training, the whole team preliminarily learnt and practiced
foreign aid work with a raised self-protection awareness and enhanced team morale. A solid foundation was laid to meet the future foreign aid mission and domestic health emergency response work.
