To precisely orient control and research of parasitic diseases, exchange progress, new technology and methods in prevention and control of parasitic diseases, enhance capacity building in control and research of parasitic diseases at all levels, "A national symposium on medical parasitology : towards precision control and research of parasitic diseases" was hosted by the Chinese Preventive Medical Association and organized by National Institute of Parasitic Diseases(NIPD), China CDC as well as the Medical Parasitology Branch of Henan Preventive Medical Association and Henan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention from 17-18 in August, 2016 in Zhengzhou, Henan.

Altogether, 125 participants from 23 provinces, including 30 municipal centers for disease control and prevention and 24 universities and colleges attended the meeting. Zhou Xiaonong, Director of NIPD, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, gave a speech titled as "precision research", "precision control" and "precision management"-- " three precisions" as working guidance, which was appreciated by the attendees.

This symposium received 75 abstracts, of which 27 were shared during the general meeting. After experts appraisal, six outstanding reports were awarded. The symposium was successfully held. Not only did it bridge the gap between the young researchers on parasitology, but also explored development of diseases, presicion identification, presicion intervention, presicion management for innovations and perfection of control and research of parasitic diseases in the future.
